Details
The Global Transit Center project in Dordrecht comprises the construction of a new head office and distribution centre for an international trading company in the food and luxury foods sector.
It was decided to construct some 22,000 m² of new warehouse facilities on the 5-ha site, as well as convert an existing production building into 13,800 m² of office space.
By installing additional insulation and exploiting the existing building mass, it proved possible to turn the complex into an ideal base for the implementation of various sustainability features.
The building’s entire air conditioning system is based on a network of pipes under the floors that transport hot and cold groundwater through the complex.
